Hah, yes. That's how I feel. It has been over a year, right? This forum is neglected and it seems as if Kai and I are the only ones who care about it.

Oh well.

I re-did the Character Profile section and cleaned it up a little. I've made sub-boards that probably don't make sense to anyone but me, but in my humble opinion it makes things seem a little more organized. If anyone else cares, you can edit your profiles and follow my example.


An explanation of the sub-boards:

Basically, I divided our characters up into four categories: Cannon Characters, Generation 1, Generation 2, and Generation 3 characters. I did this because it's how I decided to organize my character profiles on the game Impressive Title (which is sadly the only way my characters get to see the light of day anymore). Anyway, it's broken down like this:

Cannon Characters: This should be self-explanatory, but if anyone ever decides to come back and you happen to play a Cannon TLK Character, post a simple thread in there detailing which characters you play (of course, one thread per player and one post per character in said thread) and be done with it.

Generation 1: All right, I'll explain this as easily as I know how. Think of this as being like a family tree setup of sorts. Basically, the characters at the top of your family trees would go in here. If you don't get it, then look at my posts for examples.

Generation 2: The offspring of your Generation 1 characters, or characters that you have brought in around the same time "Generation 2" starts. Basically, Generation 2 just starts whenever Bakora and Laron are born. Again, just look at my posts for examples.

Generation 3: This shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but Generation 3 characters are the offspring of your Generation 2 characters, or characters that you have brought in around the same time "Generation 3" starts. Generation 3 starts around the time Tabiri, Morobi II, Takara, and Kitambi are born. Look at my posts for examples if you really need to.


Now that that's out of the way, I can explain the other change I made. I added in a new board for posting stories relating to this roleplay, if anyone is interested. You can post character back-stories here in detail that you can't fit into your profiles if you want. You can also post any kind of story relating to this roleplay that you want, so long as it's not inappropriate You know what I mean!

I guess that's it for the updates. I don't know whether or not to declare this forum officially dead seeing as apparently 2/5 of the members want to keep it alive, but we're held up from continuing the roleplay and the plot because 3/5 of the members are absent.

I know that life keeps us all busy, but if anyone wants to continue, then please post a reply to this thread. Not that anyone is going to see this thread, but I can at least try. If not, then reply anyway and say so so that the current members who want to and can be active can figure out a way to continue without the plot being held up.

Sorry if I sound cross, but I've been patient for long enough. I either want to declare this thing dead or find a way to revive it, and really at this point I almost don't care which (even though Kai knows that I really DO want to continue, I'm just frustrated is all). Hell, even people from other forums seem to know we're dead, seeing as the most recent post other than my updates is an advertisement for another fourm! I bet it's not even dead, either.

It's not as if this forum is all I think about--trust me. I have a life too. That's probably why I haven't been so anal about bringing this forum back in the past few years. That's probably why I've been so patient and nice about it. Every once in a while though, a bit of nostalgia floats back to me and, as Kai and I have agreed many times, it would be nice to bring it back. It's a nice escape from everyday life, even if we can only post once or twice every couple of days or every week even. I'm not expecting the kind of dedication we had to this place as we did when we were kids--that's absurd. I just want a little here and there, is all. Whenever our adult lives allow us the time. That's all I'm asking.

So guys, post and tell me your feelings. If you even see this post, which you probably won't because this board is probably dead. I'll be patient a little while longer (haven't we been patient long enough, though?), but sooner or later I'll have to give up.

Eh. Sorry again if I sound angry or anything. I'm not, I'm just frustrated, and even a little sad. I guess I may have to grow up and accept the death of this forum if no one replies. Or if only 2/3 of our members reply, even...

I am kind of angry.

People would call us stupid for waiting as long as we have. My boyfriend told me I was nuts for having done so. I've got a life too. I won't be able to be online for hours every night. That kind of free time is a thing of the past, and I understand that.

I would be happy with slow activity, as long as it was SOMETHING. I would really like everybody to come back so things can be how they used to be. But if that's not possible, just let us know so we can finally stop wondering and figure out what the hell to do.

We weren't spending all this time ignoring the forum. We were checking, we were thinking up ideas, we were talking about how great it would be to roleplay here again with you guys, and how much we wanted to play out whatever we thought up. It's almost painful to be strung along like this, hoping you'd all come back.

Normally I'm a little bit more tactful, but I'm tired of being a doormat. It hasn't been just weeks or even months, it's been over A YEAR and nobody else could find the time! Like a year and half, actually! I want to call myself an idiot for waiting this long.

Time's up, I just want some definitive answers either way.

Edit: Seriously now! A couple of days ago, I had a dream about you all returning and roleplaying. A DREAM. THAT'S how bad I've wanted to get baack into this people! You've now invaded my subconscious brain!

We've most certainly waited long enough for some kind of activity. I honestly feel as if this forum has been completely abandoned, and it's not something that I'm willing to admit.

Maybe I'm just a crazy old fool who can't let go of her past. Maybe I care too much.

In any case, this has to stop. I'm making this official now.

Today is Wednesday, January 13th, 2010. You have exactly THREE MONTHS to reply to this thread.

This means that if at least one of you has not replied by April 13th, 2010, I will officially declare this forum Dead and close it forever, and Kai and I will move on. By "move on," I mean we'll re-start this roleplay with new, dedicated members on a new forum.

I will leave contact information for anyone who happens to see this post too late and still wants to revive this old forum.

I don't mean to sound harsh, and I don't mean to sound so high-and-mighty or authoritative. At the same time, I realize that in the past I may not have been authoritative enough in my running of this place. Perhaps that was its downfall to begin with. In that case, I'll take the blame for my share. However, this forum was run and founded by basically the FIVE of us, and while two of us are still dedicated and willing to keep this roleplay alive, the other three have been neglectful and have probably just forgotten about this old forum. In which case, it's probably better that I close it in three months regardless.

Three months is MORE than fair. In fact, I almost feel crazy for allowing that much extra time, especially considering how much time has ALREADY passed with Kai and myself being strung along on false promises. I guess in the end I'm still too soft. I guess in the end I just don't want to let this place die. But I have to move on, and I will if it is made clear to me that this place is no longer cared about except by two of its five members.

I feel that this is certainly more than generous, considering the time we've already put in to waiting.

I hate to come off as bitchy, but at this point I'm just really pissed off. I agreed to give you guys three more months, on top of this yearand a half, because I really want what we had back THAT badly. You guys are the people we need to bring it all back. If you won't come, then I guess I gotta let it go.

It'll be a sad day if it comes, but NOBODY will be able to say we didn't give you all a chance. Because we sure as f**king hell did.

Even now I struggle as to whether or not I should post this. It feels harsh to me. It's not like me to be so blunt, but at the same time I feel you deserve to know just how angry I am, and just how much it's affected me, so I'm forcing myself to post this uncensored because I'm tired of being a doormat.

But at the same time, I hope to see you all ASAP. How's that for conflicting?

Well, there's been a bit of news. As I can't seem to be online at the right times to tell everyone via MSN, I believe I'll go ahead and post this here.

I managed to catch Zuri on MSN, and we had a talk about the forum. We plan to find a way to rejuvinate this old place and bring it back to life. In light of this, I am revoking the deadline for the time being so that we can focus on getting back on track.

I would like to ask everyone to post their MSN addresses in this thread so that we can ALL get in touch with each other and stay in the same circle this time around. Instead of relying on others to be the go-betweens for communication, I would like for us all to get to know one another better and stay in touch. This way, I feel the forum will stay alive much longer, and our friendships could even grow stronger in the process That in itself is well worth it, don't you agree?

Everyone, please, post your MSN addresses as soon as possible so that we can get things back on track. If you do not use MSN, post another messenger address. In any case, we've gotta find a way to stay in touch better. It might also be beneficial to post your time zones and what times during the day/week you may be available. In fact, do so.

There's a reason I chose a forum format for this roleplay rather than a live chat: because we can post whenever we want, regardless of time zones, and if we can't catch one another online then we can still post replies to one another. It'll be slow, sure, but it'll still be something. Post like the wind if you like, it won't hurt my feelings one bit! xD

In any case, please respond guys. If you're really serious about this, then I need replies and action. I'm doing my share--I'm getting in contact with you guys and trying to set things up, but if you never reply, post, or take any action then nothing will ever get done. We can't do this with just one or two members--we need everyone. This has to end up being a community effort. Yeah, I know five people isn't exactly a huge "community," but we're still one nonetheless. Please, don't make me regret revoking the deadline. If you don't make the effort, and if you never reply to this thread or at least contact me via MSN, then I'll have to give up.

Here's a hint though: Since we're all in different time zones, you would probably get better results posting here than trying to track me down on MSN. If you post here, I can at least see your responses because I DO check daily. I HAVE been checking daily ever since January when I first posted the deadline in the first place. So please, don't hesitate to post here. Like I said, it'll probably be easier to communicate if we constantly post. There's also the Leader's Corner where we can talk and plan the roleplay if you'd like, or talk and plan about getting this place back on track (I would prefer to use the Leader's Corner[/b] board, actually)[/size], and there's the OOC Board where we can just chat.
