Hey guys, Happy New Year and welcome to the newly upgraded forum! We've got a few new things to cover, so here goes!
◈ The forum has been now been successfully upgraded to Proboards V5! While overall there isn't much of a theme/structure change, there are a few new features that I think you guys will enjoy
◈ Shenzi is no longer an available canon character, as I have decided to pick her up for my own devious reasons > BUAHAHAHAHAHA!
◈ Banzai and Ed, however, are still available and I encourage anyone who's interested to apply! That goes for any other available canons or adoptables, as well
Updates and Changes Made:
- There is a new custom Gender option for your profiles. This option was added so that anyone who doesn't identify with a particular gender binary may write in a custom one, and hide the one you're forced to choose when you sign up to Proboards. Unfortunately this is only a workaround and does not replace the original Gender option, it merely hides it and replaces it with another.
If you would like to take advantage of this option: Go to your profile, click on the "Edit Profile" button, click on the Personal tab, and scroll down until you see the Gender textbox. Write in what you would like, and save. Then go over to the Privacy tab and scroll down until you see the Gender Visibility option. Check "No" and the original Gender option that you were forced to choose on signup will now be hidden, and your new one displayed instead
- There is now a better system for Posting Templates. If you would like to make a custom posting template, simply go to your profile, click on the "Edit Profile" button, click on the Settings tab, and scroll down until you see the Posting Templates box. From there you can create one or more posting templates for your own personal use. When you post, there will be a drop-down box at the bottom (next to Preview and BBCode) where you can select which template you would like to use.
- I honestly can't remember if the V4 forum had this or not, but there is now a Spell Check button! Yay! ^^
- Unfortunately, there is no plugin/code for the old Thesaurus button so until I can find one, that's going to be missing for a while
- In addition to the features listed above are, of course, all of the new features that V5 itself brings. Keep in mind that I'm still learning the new system myself, so if you have any questions feel free to ask and I'll see if I can figure it out xD
Known Bugs:
- The main text box for typing in your posts has a grey background with green text, and I can't figure out how to change it back to the standard white and black :/ I'm working on figuring out how to fix this, but it may take some time.
