She tends to believe more in the overall good of others as opposed to the overall bad, and she is kind to those who have no one to be kind to them. Still, however kind Narifia may be, she is not one to take threats against her loved ones lightly and will fight if necessary. Narifia is no pushover. Being the daughter of Zira she has some of her mother's fury--though she does well to control it. History:[/b] Narifia was raised as a Pridelander by Sarafina but later found out that she was adopted. When she left home to learn who her true parents were she learned that her mother was Zira and her father was Scar (although truthfully her biological father was a rogue named Kito who forced his way into Zira's life--and was promptly forced right back out again). Zira was dead; she had died not long after giving birth to Narifia due to illness. Scar had been alive only because the hyenas had decided to keep him as a torture prisoner rather than killing him, and he had managed to escape. Narifia located her father and brought him back to the Pridelands with her. Scar sought and received forgiveness from Simba for his past crimes and passed away not long after. Narifia, restless and unable to truly call herself a "Pridelander" anymore, left home with her cubhood sweetheart Morobi and decided the travel to the Outlands--the former land of her mother. Along the way she picked up the four remaining members of the former Outlanders and from there they all discovered that the Outlands had been replinished--no longer was it a wasteland, but a haven. There still remains ill feelings between the Outlanders and the Pridelanders, however Narifia still strives to achieve peace between the prides and put an end to the ages-long feud for once and for all.[/center] |

He has a mischievous side that he really only shows to Narifia, but he is in reality a very serious individual. He takes his duties seriously, and he worries constantly over his loved ones--Narifia especially--almost to the point of being over-protective. History:[/b] Morobi's cubhood was fairly uneventful aside from an excursion in which he, his sister Leah, and his two friends Narifia and Sarai went off on a mischievous "adventure" to explore and raid a human camp at the suggestion of Sarai. The trip didn't go very well as they were discovered and nearly captured and skinned by the human poachers. Morobi saved Narifia from the clutches of one of the poachers, and after that incident Morobi slowly began to become smitten with Narifia. Sadly, Narifia was always innocently oblivious to Morobi's affections. When Narifia left the Pridelands to discover her true heritage, Morobi had also just grown his first fluff of mane and was due to receive his mantlement ceremony (coming-of-age for male lions). He was crushed when he realized Narifia would not be there to see him grow up and doubted he would ever see her again. Morobi grew into adulthood and was ready to go on a lifelong search for Narifia when unexpectedly she showed up with her father, Scar. After Scar died, Narifia decided to leave again to discover her identity and destiny for herself. Morobi vowed never to let her out of his sight again, and he tracked her down, finally confessed his love, and went on to rule the newly-restored Outlands with her.[/center] |

She has a sophisticated air of arrogance about her that makes her seem like quite the "superior" character. She is very crafty, sly, and well-versed in the art of conning others to believe whatever she wants them to believe. Sarai has a venomous personality and can bend others to her will just by telling them what they want to hear. Sarai could be described as an evil genius... however, a darkness shrouds her once-innocent heart, and there is a pain deep within her soul that even she does not realize she feels. History:[/b] Sarai was an innocent cub and--believe it or not--best friends with Narifia when they were very young. She also has always had a crush on Morobi. After the disaster of the raid of a human camp, however, Sarai began to change. At first she felt guilty for persuading her friends to go with her to the human camp to explore, and for putting them in such terrible danger. She also felt guilty that Narifia had gotten hurt in the process. However, she began to see how Morobi's affections towards Narifia were developing, and she couldn't help but feel jealous. Sarai would have gotten over it eventually had it not been for the meddling of an unknown shadow-cub named Makai. Makai convinced Sarai that Narifia was purposefully stealing away Morobi's heart, and that she had gotten hurt at the human camp on purpose to make Sarai look bad and to make Morobi rescue and fall in love with her. In reality none of this was true, but Makai was cunning and Sarai was a young and impressionable cub. Sarai allowed Makai's influence to darken her heart, and Sarai's jealousy and hatred of Narifia grew as the years went on as did her obsessive pursuit of Morobi's love. When Narifia left the Pridelands to begin a new life in the Outlands, Morobi went with her and became her mate and King. This enraged Sarai to no end, and her darkened heart burns for retribution...[/center] |

With his careful, agile posture and smoldering eyes Decimus is always seems to give off the impression that he's about to attack. His strong build and speed make him an excellent hunter. Personality: Decimus' fierce loyalty combined with a vicious and unpredictable temper makes Decimus a fine ally and a terrible enemy. His acquired beliefs are clearly, passionately and permanently cemented in his mind, be they his love for Zurina or devotion to Narifia. He is both clever and sharp with a charm and wit he uses to his advantage and the capability to show somewhat unorthodox affection. History: Decimus' Mother Fuatana was amongst those originally banished to the Outlands for their allegiance to Scar and she maintained this vow even after Zira's defeat, skulking back to the "dry, barren, disgusting, pathetic, termite-infested Outlands." Decimus was born just after, the result of a tryst between her and a nameless rogue who disappeared afterwards, unwilling to settle in such a place. Decimus adored his mother who died bitter and heartbroken, instilling all her values into the cub. After this he became colder, harder spending more time learning to fight and hunt as he grew. The only company he'd tolerate were Kurunzi, Ardilana and Anasi, likeminded cubs he'd grown up with and trusted implicitly (if only because he could play leader) and they became simply ‘The Four’, dedicated to the restoration of the Outlands. Their prayers were answered with the discovery of Narifia, daughter of Zira and heir to all they held dear. Decimus was unable to conceal all the joy he felt at this chance for a real Pride and home and has sworn his dedication to the protection of Narifia’s rule. His mistrust and bitterness towards Morobi is also beginning to subside at her insistence. However the event that has so far more the most significant impact of Decimus’ life is the moment he saw Simba’s youngest daughter straying dreamily to the Waterhole during an extended patrol. He fell obsessively in love, something heightened only by the disgust of his chosen weakness and the fact that she will have nothing to do with him. She is his one true ambition… [/center] |

Her diminutive size means that though she is quick, she is not designed for skilled hunting. Personality: Without the passionate, dramatic nature of her elder sister it is easy to see how Zurina and her quiet unobtrusive nature could be overlooked in such a large pride. But her humility and absolute devotion, combined with her unusual maturity make her well-loved and well-respected. However there is something otherworldly about Zurina, increasing as she grows, a sort of detachment in her personality that suggests that her mind and imagination are constantly elsewhere. This air of mystery gives her a regal, almost superior bearing. History: Until recently there was no real strife in the short life of the youngest Prideland Princess. The daughter of Nala and Simba, her existence was quiet, her cubhood spent in the company of her parents and grandmothers rather than outside pursuing adventure. She had no delusions of grandeur about her status and has been happy to take a background role in the royal family thus far. As Zurina tentatively began to enter adulthood, her instinct to stay within the confines of Pride Rock changed somewhat and she began exploring alone her own, wanting to find places that she could be on her own and dream and think her own unusual thoughts. It was during one of these little trips that she first encountered Decimus. His possessive, insistent nature combined with his dangerous presence made his instant proclamations of love repellent to her. After several strained conversations she has told him bluntly, or as bluntly as Zurina could, that she has no desire to see him, and certainly not to be with him. She is now more wary about her dwelling places Most recently, Zurina and her Pride have been devastated by the news that their Queen is missing, possibly dead. Rather than reacting with the tears and hysteria of others, Zurina’s response was to withdraw even farther into herself, increasing the worry of her Father and those around her.[/center] |

She is also a very down-to-earth individual, and she spends a lot of time thinking deep thoughts about philosophy or reflecting on the events of her life or the history of the pride. History:[/b] Leah grew up with her brother Morobi always watching out for and protecting her. Her closest friend however was always Sarai, whom she looked up to and always saw as a natural-born leader. Although at first Leah was friends with Narifia, as soon as Sarai began picking on and harassing Narifia, Leah followed suit. As Leah grew older, she soon began to see how spiteful and vindictive Sarai really was. Sarai's relentless obsession with her brother Morobi was starting to put a strain on the relationship between Leah and her brother, as she was really too afraid to do anything about it. When Sarai insulted and made fun of Narifia just after they found out about her being adopted--and Narifia left the Pridelands seemingly because of it--that was the last straw. Leah broke away from Sarai's friendship, though she could never have guessed at what price that would cost her. Sarai turned her vindictive behavior on Leah, and never missed a chance to ridicule or otherwise abuse her cubhood friend. Time passed, and Morobi forgave Leah. Narifia returned eventually, and Morobi left with Narifia to start a new life together in the Outlands. Since then Sarai's psychotic behavior has worsened, and Leah has felt that Sarai's rage and jealousy may one day take her too far over the edge...[/center] |

He is haughty while also being brash and crude. He also is known to be a prankster who finds humor in harassing others. At the heart of it all, Kurunzi is really a good guy deep down, but maintains an impertinent exterior simply because he enjoys being that way. He is also somewhat of a romantic--but he'll never let that show! History:[/b] Kurunzi was born to an outsider during the time of Zira's reign in the Outlands. His siblings and mother perished due to the poor living conditions in the Outlands at that time and was adopted by the mother of a cub named Ardilana. He became very close to his adoptive sister and two other cubs--one female named Anasi and one male named Decimus. As the cubs grew, Kurunzi began to look up to Decimus as a big brother and a role-model. Decimus was a young lion with a fiery spirit and a fierce loyalty to Zira in his soul. For the longest time, the hard life of an Outsider made Kurunzi a hardened, one-minded creature much like Decimus. Kurunzi shared the same bitterness that his friends and family did about the Pridelanders and their "evils." As he became an adult, he fought alongside his three cubhood friends to bring the Outlands to a glory it had never before seen. His belief in the innocence of Scar--and the glorified tale of Zira's ultimate sacrifice to bring honor to her lover's name--was the fuel to the fire in Kurunzi's romantic heart. After Zira's death Kurunzi, Decimus, Anasi, and Ardilana were the only four outsiders to refuse to join forces with Simba's pride. They became known as The Four, led by Decimus. As was everyone else, he was relieved and overjoyed when Narifia, the true heir to Zira's throne, was discovered by Decimus. His dislike of Morobi lessened much faster than Decimus or Ardilana's, and he even began to like the guy and soon would come to call him his king.[/center] |

She is a difficult lion to get close to, and has little room in her heart for making new friends. Her loyalty, however, is unbreakable and she would cast herself into the flames of Hell to save a loved one if that's what it would take. History:[/b] Ardilana grew up in suffering as a cub born during the reign of Zira. Her only close friends were her adoptive brother Kurunzi and her two best friends Anasi and Decimus. She willingly followed her friends in their loyal and dutiful pursuit of Zira's brand of justice, and after the death of Zira just as willingly refused to join the Pridelanders with the rest of their foolish and disloyal pride. She remained the shadow of The Four up until the discovery of Narifia, the true heir of Zira that they had all couldn't have been happier to discover. Ardilana was not so keen to blindly accept Narifia, however. For one, she had a Pridelander mate named Morobi--what's worse was that he was the direct son of Kovu, Zira's son who had been the first to betray their late queen. For the longest time, Ardilana's heart was closed to everyone around her--even her closest friends, The Four. The only one who could ever get through to her anymore was Anasi, who was often the voice of reason of the group. Eventually, however, her heart began to soften, if only by a little... but how long will it last?[/center] |

She is often seen as the voice of reason in conflicts and arguments. Anasi is surprisingly gentle considering her past and her associates, and she is relatively optimistic. History:[/b] Back during the time of Zira's reign in the Outlands, Anasi was a cub conceived by a rogue male named Kito who had at one time attempted to overthrow Zira and take control of the outsider pride. While Kito was inevitably defeated, his seed still lived on in several lionesses of the pride including Anasi's mother (technically, Anasi and Narifia could be considered half-siblings, however sadly they will never make that connection in their lifetime). Anasi, being around the same age as Decimus, Kurunzi, and Ardilana, naturally fell in instantly with the group of dedicated Zira loyalists. She held the group together both during Zira's lifetime and afterward when Decimus and the others refused to join Simba's pride. Although Decimus ultimately became the leader of The Four after Zira's original pride disbanded Anasi was just as well-respected, and more often than not held Decimus' temper in check. When The Four stumbled upon Zira's lost heir, Narifia, no one was happier about the event than Anasi. Being the optimistic and hopeful creature that she is, Anasi was more than willing to trust the future of the newly-restored Outlander pride to Narifia and her mate Morobi. Anasi keeps up the hopes of her friends and keeps assuring them to trust Narifia as much as she does, but ultimately it is up to Decimus, Kurunzi, and Ardilana to figure out their own hearts.[/center] |

He seldom smiles or cracks jokes, yet at the same time he is known to belt out a few dryly-humorous lines here and there--usually witty, ironic observations. Indifferent though he may seem at times, he lives his life adhering strictly to his own personal honor code. When it all comes down to choosing between right and wrong, you will never have to second-guess at which one Wafariki will choose. History:[/b] Wafariki and his brother Kugongo were born into the Graveyard Clan not long after Scar escaped from the clan. Wafariki was technically the younger brother, however he was often the one whom Kugongo looked up to. The Graveyard Clan, due to its history, generally was home to hyenas of less-than-admirable virtues. Loyalty was not a common trait amongst these particular hyenas. Not every hyena in the Graveyard Clan was like this, but generally day-to-day life showed little in the way of "compromise" and more in the way of "competition." This was not a family-friendly clan, to put it simply. Wafariki, even from a young age, never could understand the way his fellows acted and treated one another. What he saw as common decency and common sense his fellows saw as weakness and stupidity. Thus, Wafariki separated himself from his fellows and socialized with very, very few close friends including Kugongo and one female named Dahari who seemed to see eye-to-eye with him. One day, a lioness named Shetani stumbled into the Graveyard Clan's territory, and because of his brother Kugongo's willingness to trust and help her out, Wafariki put his life on the line for a stranger and as a result ended up exiled from his home clan. He couldn't care less. [/center] |

He is eloquent and speaks from his heart more often than from his head, yet he is also a thinker who enjoys the occasional debate and who loves to talk about the world around him. History:[/b] Kugongo and his brother Wafariki were born into the Graveyard Clan not long after Scar escaped from the clan. While technically Kugongo is the older brother, he has always looked up to Wafariki more so than the other way around. Like Wafariki, Kugongo disliked how his clan members behaved. He feared commenting on their behavior however because, unlike Wafariki, Kugongo did enjoy socializing with his clan mates. Also unlike his brother, Kugongo could get along better with his peers. He never felt socially awkward the way Wafariki did, and as a result often felt sorry that he could never change that for his brother. The two of them found a common friend in Dahari, a female in their clan who seemed to think similarly to them. The three of them would spend hours lazing around and talking about society and comparing ideas with one another, and occasionally they would even end up in friendly debates. Kugongo was with his Khan (a hyena clan's leader--typically only female) and several others on a hunting excursion one day when they came across a lioness, a demon-cat, traversing their lands. Kugongo naturally followed his Khan in the pursuit of the lioness. However, the fight ironically proved the virtue of the lioness named Shetani was far greater than that of his hyena comrades, who would have left him for dead to save their own hides. Seeing this Shetani spared Kugongo's life, and in return Kugongo, Wafariki, and Dahari helped save hers. They were exiled as a result, but although Kugongo is sad to leave his birth home he knows that it was worth it. [/center] |
