Samaki's Gen. 1

Azra was the first cub born in the Pridelands during Mufasa and Sarabi's peaceful rule. This, however, was frowned upon by several of the pridemembers, since the law was that the rulers' cub and heir was to be the first born cub, to prevent any struggles for dominance. In her young cubhood, Azra was usually quite lonely. There were no other cubs to play with, since her younger cousin was still so very little. The only company to be had was her (honestly very sweet) Aunt Sarabi, who now had little time for her. Azra's uncharitable parents had little time for her as well, mostly out of their laziness or irritable attitudes.

Soon, Simba and Nala were avast in the Pridelands, both very content in playing amongst themselves. Azra was another case. Zira and Scar often scolded her and discouraged her from socializing with her cousin Simba and his friend Nala. In the rare occasions that she did find a way to play with them, they would tease her or discriminate her from their games.

In occurrences like these, Azra was often forgiving, but as they became more frequent and brutal on their part, Azra quickly found her claws on the same path of bitterness that her father grew to know in his childhood. Always cast out and picked on..

Azra was not very old when her father began to speak of 'making a better life' for her and her mother. 'You'll be a princess someday, Azra,' her father would whisper to her through his malicious smile. When that day came, Scar's daughter was beyond shocked. She was horrified. The cub knew how she had claimed to hate Simba, but had she truly meant it? The fact of it haunted her, perhaps it was all her fault? The death of her uncle and cousin were among a few things that she couldn't forgive herself for.

Life in the Pridelands during Scar's reign was a hardship, and as far as she can remember, quite loud. The laughter of hyenas, as well as the mewls of her father's brood. How many siblings did she have? Six, seven.. more? Her mother was never at all keen on how many cubs he had with the other lionesses, but oh, he needed an heir. One of the only cubs she did become attached to was her brother Nuka.

When Simba came to reclaim his rightful place as king, Azra left with her mother and siblings. After her father's death, Azra had a son, Kosa, whom her pregnancy with she kept a secret to not disappoint her father. When Kosa was just a cub, he ran away and she hasn't seen him since.

Her mother invoked war on the Pridelands, where nearly the whole of the outlands joined together with their former enemies, all except the four. Azra, although loyal to her mother, did not join them. After Zira was thrown into the flooding river, Azra seemingly disappeared, perhaps to try and save her. As far as the Pridelanders and her original pride-sisters are concerned, Azra was named deceased, as well as Zira.

Zira had one last cub, Narifia, and then died shortly after. Azra did not want to take responsibility for yet another sibling. The lioness did her best to look after her for a few days, but quickly took it upon herself to leave the mite within the Pridelands in hope that a lioness more suitable to raise the cub would. It was then that Azra 'disappeared' for a number of years.
Azra claims her mother is dead, and has fully accepted this as fact.

Azra is Simba's older cousin and some consider her to be Kovu's sort of sister. Kosa, Azra's son is Kovu's biological half-brother. They shared fathers.
